New Port Richey Main Street, Inc. presents "Tides of Time", A Visual Art Experience
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - After months of meticulous planning and collaborative effort, the highly anticipated "Tides of Time" project has finally come to fruition, culminating in a grand unveiling and celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony held in the heart of downtown New Port Richey.
The centerpiece of this innovative project consists of stunning bronze sculptures that have been strategically placed on 11 historic buildings throughout the downtown district. Each sculpture not only serves as a unique piece of art but also as a gateway to the rich history of the area.

Accompanying each sculpture is a QR code, which invites visitors to engage with the artwork on a deeper level. By scanning the code with their smartphones, individuals gain access to a dedicated digital webpage that features a wealth of informative content.
This digital experience is enriched by a series of captivating videos narrated by the esteemed local historian and author Gary Vitacco-Robles. His engaging storytelling brings to life the historical significance of each building and sculpture, providing context that enhances the viewer's appreciation of the artwork. In addition to the videos, the webpage offers detailed information about the "Tides of Time" project itself, outlining its objectives, inspirations, and the creative process behind the sculptures. Visitors can also learn more about the talented artist Gillian Harper, whose vision and craftsmanship have played a pivotal role in the realization of this project.
The "Tides of Time" project not only celebrates the artistic spirit of New Port Richey but also serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that defines the community. By integrating art with technology and history, the project aims to foster a deeper connection between residents and their local environment, encouraging exploration and engagement with the past. As visitors stroll through downtown, they are invited to reflect on the stories encapsulated within each sculpture, making the experience both educational and inspiring.
