Local Comic Book Store in Downtown NPR Gives Away Thousands of Comic Books for "Free Comic Book Day".

One of the newest business offerings in downtown New Port Richey; Six Strings & Superheroes, officially opens its doors just in time for "Free Comic Book Day".

Just how new is Six Strings & Superheroes? Well, the boutique comic book / pro guitar shop, located at 5645 Main Street, just recently had its official ribbon cutting event April 27th, 2024.

Although a comic book store may be an uncharted business venture for downtown New Port Richey - store owner and comic book enthusiast; Steve Henderlong believes it's just what downtown New Port Richey needs ... and from the look of the amazing turnout of Six Strings & Superheroes' first "Free Comic Book Day" event, Henderlong might actually be onto something!


If you build it, they will ... well, you know


Enthusiastic comic book fans, both young and old, lined the sidewalk in front of Six Strings & Superheroes as well as the neighboring businesses early Saturday morning, for the opportunity to not only be the first to score their choice of free comic books, but to finally get a chance to check out the highly anticipated comic book shop with its museumeque displays, showcasing collections of irreplaceable pop culture memorabilia you won't find much anywhere else ... let alone a typical neighborhood comic book store.



Some of the collectibles on display include the very first issue of Thor, Spiderman, and even an early issue of Hulk signed by the legendary superhero creator himself; Stan Lee.



We guess you can say it was a pretty super day


At the day's end, it was estimated that roughly two thousand people visited the Six Strings & Superheroes comic book store and received a free comic book for "Free Comic Book Day". Some even coming from as far as Brooksville, Wesley Chapel, and Tampa.
